The Newest ConserVOLiance Member

The newest member of our crew is an intelligent, irreverent, insightful and incognito member of the Nashville corner of the Tennessee blogosphere known as Joltin’ Django. He blogs at the cleverly named The Nigh Seen Creeder.

Joltin’ has been penning his posts and pinning Progressives to the pavement at The Nigh Seen Creeder since August of 2006. He’s attracted quite a following and it’s no wonder since he generally has stuff up at The Nigh Seen Creeder that you won’t find anyplace else. Don’t believe me? Consider that in just the last week he’s posted about the move among the GOP elites towards John McCain along with a fascinating look into the world of a fearless blogger from Castro’s Cuba who dares to tell a far different story than Danny Glover and Michael Moore.

With stuff this good you just can’t help but come back for more. It’s why we’re excited to be able to have The Nigh Seen Creeder’s stuff here at The ConserVOLiance! Head over and give him a good read and then come back for more right-of-Center goodness over here!

Our newest member is no stranger to the Tennessee blogosphere. The Tennessee ConserVOLiance is proud to welcome David Oatney from The World According to Oatney to its ranks!

David is a prolific blogger! He’s been blogging at his blogger site for a little over three years now and still posts almost every day! When you get to his place, check out his archives! Obviously not a newcomer to the notion of communicating with large numbers of people at the same time, David also has a radio background. Not only did he have a sports talk show he co-hosted at one point but he recently celebrated his one year anniversary of his Internet radio show, Oatney on the Air!

Per his profile, David is a man of faith, morals and politically Conservative values. His passion is sharing these things and the impact they have on his life with his readers and listeners. Given his popularity and presence in the Tennessee blogospher and beyond, it would appear his passion is paying off. We’re certainly excited to have him as a part of The ConserVOLiance. I know you will be, as well.

Head over and give his stuff a read … and a listen … you’ll be glad you did!

Welcome to our newest member, Fabian Story, blogging at Political Straight Talk and living in Big Orange Country, Knoxville, TN. Fabian is just a young man, only 30 or so, but he’s evidently crammed a lot into a short time. His picture at the blog shows him with two young’ns. I’m going to go out on a limb here and opine they are probably the light of his life!

Fabian has been blogging at Political Straight Talk for a little over a year but he’s packed a lot of work into that time if his archives are worth anything. In addition to blogging, Fabian also has a Podcast/Online Radio Show hosted at Talkshoe. It’s called Political Straight Talk as well. It’s nice to have another Podcaster in the group to go along with The Voice of Liberty Podcast (yes, that is shameless self promotion). The quality of his material, in print and via audio, is best summed up in the comment of one of his listeners, Political Superman. ” He has a grasp on issues and tells it like it should be told!”

If you prefer your news and opinions in an audio format, I’ve included a link to Fabian’s show in our blogroll as well. Be sure to stop by and give Fabian a little link love and leave a comment so he knows you’ve been by. Welcome Fabian, great to have you on board!

Our newest member comes to us as a referral. A big ConserVOLiance hat tip to Bear Creek Ledger for introducing us to Kate at An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings!

Kate is blogging out of Hardin County these days but her journey to get there was a long and winding road. She started out in Texas and ended up in Wisconsin until she and her hubby recently moved to Tennessee. In her own words,

I’m a transplanted Texan by way of Wisconsin. Tennessee has always been one of my favorite states, and no state income tax. So, my husband and I compromised. I wasn’t going to stay one more winter in that tax hell up nort’, and he couldn’t handle the heat of Texas. 🙂 At least y’all have four seasons here, instead of two…..WI has winter and a brief period of construction.

Kate’s been politically active for years and made the move to blogging in May of ’06 back in Wisconsin. Influenced by a talk radio host, Jessica McBride, to get involved she started ‘An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings’ and it’s STILL the #8 Most Influential Blog in Wisconsin per Blog Net News! We’ll have to get her switched over to the Tennessee page!

She’s still getting used to living in Tennessee and finding all the places to plug in to being politically active. If you’re a Tennessee ConBlogger, she’d love to make your acquaintance. Click through and give her a visit. You’ll be glad you did.

How about a shout out to our newest ConserVOLiance member. It’s Johnny Cupp from Clinton and the author of Right Wing Johnny’s Blog.

I met Johnny on FaceBook a couple of weeks ago and was impressed that he is quite active on the ‘Net in that regard. In fact, he’s one of the few FaceBook folks that have a separate blog listed there and that blog is related to politics. Despite there being about 90,000 FaceBook Tennesseans listing themselves as ‘Conservative’ the number of that are politically active about their politics seems to be a somewhat smaller number.

Johnny’s got some great ideas and a brand spanking new WordPress blog to try them out on. He’s even posted his first crosspost already so we’re looking forward to hearing from him regularly. If he doesn’t post for a day or two, don’t wait for more, head over to RWJB and enjoy some Southern Conservative goodness.

No True Conservatives

It is sad that we have no true conservatives running for the president.  John McCain is in favor of campaign finance control.  Mike Huckabee was in favor of raising taxes and giving scholarships to illegal immigrants as governor of Arkansas.  Rudy “the RINO” Giuliani ran a sanctuary city.  Ron Paul is in favor of immediately pulling out of Iraq which would be a big mistake.  Mitt Romney is a flip-flopper on abortion.  What we need is a candidate that will not raise taxes, will seal off the border, support the troops, and show the rest of the world that the United States will not cut and run when things start to turn bad.  One thing that we need is a candidate that has a real chance of being elected that is in favor of the Fair Tax.  I know that Huckabee said in the recent debacle that the Clinton News Network hosted that he was in favor of the Fair Tax but I am still not sure that he has a chance.  I personally am supporting Fred Thompson but I do not think that he has the charisma to be elected.  I just hope that the candidate that the Republicans nominate can beat the Clinton-Obama/Edwards ticket (I honestly think that the Hildabeast will get the nomination and then the fight will be between Barrack “Not the Hussein” Obama and the Bret Girl).  With the way that the polls have been shifting, I think that we have a serious chance of defeating either ticket as long as we can get the rest of America to see Hillary for what she is.  She is a socialist who would turn this country into a wasteland.  The condition of the country during the Great Depression would look like good times compared to the aftermath of another Clinton presidency.  She wants to institute socialized medicine (her supporters are always calling it “universal healthcare”, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck) which would create one on the worst healthcare systems in the world.  Other countries that have socialized medicine have citizens that come to the US almost daily to receive medical treatment.  She would also take the profits from companies and use them for the good of the people.  This is straight from Karl Marx who said “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!”  I am afraid that if she is put into office, the USA as we know it will cease to exist.

I also want to encourage everyone to visit anysoilder.org and pick a few members of the military that are serving abroad and at least write to them even if you are unable to send packages, they like to receive letters to show them that not everyone here thinks that they are uneducated idiots.

Keep it real

Keep it conservative

The Much Younger Trophy Wife usually has a unique and practical idea for solving the world’s problems. Politics is no exception. Her solution for that field, as it is for most fields? Get a mom involved!

Moms would employ their hard earned, and legendarily effective interpersonal skills and arbitration techniques to bring peace and progress to the political process. From the exquisitely timed sympathetic cluck of the tongue to the promptly and fiercely applied twist and pull on the ear, maternal parental units would reign supreme in politics as they do in more domestic settings.

With that in mind, we’re delighted to welcome our newest ConserVOLiance member, Citizen NetMom from Oak Ridge!

I suggest you take heed lest you incur Mom’s displeasure. She has 4 teenage daughters and a husband so don’t think you’re going to put anything over on her. And she’s Right of Center so she has that whole “personal responsibility” thing happening. She works with her local school board so she’s used to all manner of dust ups. The deck is stacked against you. Give up now and maybe our Virtual Mom will be merciful. Who knows, she might not even require you to tell your Real mom who broke the lamp in the Living Room!

Check out Mom’s practical and entertaining takes on the ins and outs of everyday life! You’ll be glad you did. Just don’t upset her. Because if Momma ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy!

What a great way to start off a Friday morning and end up our week. Welcome to our 11th member, Byron Chesney from the Knoxville Trivia Blog.

It’s currently just a rumor, but one with ample evidence to support it, that Byron is actually twins. This rumor got started when it was noticed on the internet that, not only does Byron have an active life in the real world, but he maintains and contributes to an incredible **SIX** blogs and websites. His blogging career is headed towards its second anniversary and who knows how long his other sites have been around?

The most striking thing about his sites is that they all deal with Tennessee in one fashion or another. I’m sure some of our readers from north of that famous line are wondering if there is enough to the South to generate that much verbiage. Hehehe … You ain’t seen nothing! When you need a quiet break from the rigors of Tennessee politics, take an online stroll through some more placid Tennessee scenery and browse Byron’s blogs.

Byron describes himself as “…just a proud, native Tennessean with conservative, Christian, family values and I believe that our political leaders should reflect those same values.” Nothing fancy or high falutin’ – just your basic, Tennessee, every day man. It’s men like this that I met when I first arrived here over 25 years ago that impressed me and were part of my decision to make Tennessee my home. Glad to see that there are still some of them around today!

Welcome to The ConserVOLiance Byron –

We’d like to welcome our newest member of The ConserVOLiance, Mark Albertini at Mark Albertini Politics. Mark is officially our 10th member and helps accomplish our first membership goal. For this, we are grateful!

Mark hails from the Chattanooga area and though he’s only been blogging a short time, his stuff packs a whallop! That’s likely the former US Marine in him. Those guys lead from the front and don’t do anything half way! You may not agree with him but there will never be any doubt about where Mark is on an issue. In fact, his blog has a really cool feature at the bottom of the page. It’s a section titled “Where does Mark Stand on the Issues?” and lists a brief synopsis of his stands.

If this sounds like the work of someone running for office, well, you’re quite perceptive. Mark ran for the Tennessee State House in 1994 in between earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1993 and his Juris Doctorate in 1999. Judging from the tone of his site, I wouldn’t be surprised to see another run for office in his future. But you can say you knew him when he was “just” a blogger!

Welcome Mark, we’re glad to have you!

Semper Fi, from the ConserVOLiance, and thank you for your service to our country and to our great state of Tennessee,

Our newest member is an incredible find and it’s both an honor and exciting to be able to introduce you all to Daniel Myers from ‘Daniel Myers Politics’.

Why all the hype? Well, sit down before reading this because if it hits you the way it hit me, standing may not be an option. This is what Daniel would like you to know about him …

To begin with, Daniel is only 17 years old. He’s only been blogging for about a year. I know, I know – what’s the big deal with another teenage blogger with a little staying power and discipline? Well, there are 17 year olds and then there are 17 year olds, if you get my drift. And with THIS 17 year old, the really remarkable part all happened before he began blogging!

While only online for a year, Daniel has been involved with politics for over seven years! And yes, I did the math. He has been on the campaign staffs for 17 different candidates and was the State Coordinator for a Presidential Campaign. He’s hosted an Internet radio show with over 18,000 listeners and was the first person to host online Presidential debates (and, yes, that last word is plural).

Daniel is in regular contact with Tennessee’s federal elected officials along with many state elected officials. All his local office holders know him personally. He was asked by his Mayor to moderate a City Council Candidate forum and has been interviewed on many occasions by newspapers and radio programs across the country.

He has had the opportunity to meet, speak with, and interview dozens of bloggers, journalists, party leaders, candidates for various offices, book authors, senators, congressmen, governors and more. All from the age of 10 to his ripe old age today of 17. Give him another 7 years and who knows what he’ll do and where he’ll go.

We’re excited that he’s agreed to accompany us here at the ConserVOLiance for a part of the trip. Welcome Daniel!

For the ConserVOLiance,
